Retail City Awards 2008, Dubai






The winners of the 2008 Retail City Awards were announced on the 2nd of June during a glitzy gala dinner at the Raffles Dubai.

The Retail City Awards program was established in 2006 to recognize outstanding retail projects, honoring shopping center owners, development associates, retailers, franchisers, architects and designers who are the very best at what they do, who design and develop projects that can truly be held up as examples of what can be accomplished with a lot of hard work and creativity.

This year’s entries and nominees showcased their remarkable achievements and contribution to the global retail industry.


Retail City 2008 – Bringing Together Retailers & Malls in Emerging Markets - is an annual networking exhibition and conference focusing on all aspects of the retail development cycle.

Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2008 - Cocktail Party





The Cityscape Abu Dhabi cocktail party gave delegates, speakers and exhibitors the unique chance to network with key international and regional professionals in an informal environment – as well as giving everyone a great night out.

This year's venue for the Cityscape Abu Dhabi cocktail party was the recently opened Embassy Club located on the Lobby level of the Emirates Palace.

The party convened at 7:30pm with a guided tour of the Cultural District exhibition (opposite the Embassy Club) currently being held within the Emirates Palace. The tour showcased the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority's vision and creation of a Cultural District and ended at the Embassy Club for an evening filled with fun and enjoyment whilst networking with guests from the industry.

Entry was strictly by invitation only.


Cityscape Middle East Real Estate Awards






The real estate industry turned out in force for the 2nd Cityscape Middle EastReal Estate Awards. Key industry Awards were distributed at a lavish gala dinner held at the sumptuous Emirates Palace Hotel.

The evening was created to reward excellence in real estate development and investment in the Middle East and North Africa region. The Awards were designed recognise and reward real estate industry professionals and companies that have shown outstanding performance and achievement in key market and project areas. The awards recognised outstanding performance in four key areas of the real estate industry - finance, marketing, development and architecture.

Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2008 Golf Classic






Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2008 got off to a flying start on Monday 12 May with the second annual Sorouh Cityscape Abu Dhabi Golf Classic.

Over 100 leading real estate industry professionals competed in 2-player teams for the right to become the Sorouh Cityscape Abu Dhabi Golf Champions. Played on the Abu Dhabi National Golf course, the afternoon competition allowed all players to enjoy the excitement, friendly competition and camaraderie that can only be experienced by playing with fellow real estate industry peers and colleagues. The tournament provided some relaxation before Cityscape commenced and was hailed as a resounding success by the players and sponsors.

The Bride Show had more than 20 fashion shows during the 4 days of the event. You could see the latest in bridal fashion, evening wear and abayas and jalabiyas in this fashion extravaganza!!!

Middle East Lighting Desinger Awards, 27 April 2008

The Middle East lighting industry turned out for the 2008 Middle East Light Design Awards, affectionately known as MELDA on the first day of the recent PALME Exhibition .
The elaborate Gala Dinner was hosted at the Park Hyatt, Dubai on Sunday 27 April with over 250 people attending to honouring the outstanding and innovative lighting design achievements taking place across the Middle East.


The lighting design awards were staged for the first time last year and created a benchmark of excellence. The awards cover projects within the Middle East, including the Gulf Co-operation Council countries as well as Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran and Egypt.

It is a unique opportunity for the region to recognize and celebrate the creativity and technical skill of the world's leading lighting designers in enhancing the region's built environment through the power of light. Cutting-edge, dynamic and ground-breaking projects are being built in this fast-paced and exciting environment, the night-time image of these buildings as enhanced by lighting is of huge importance.

MIDDLE EAST EVENT AWARDS 27 April, 2008
The Middle East Events Awards rewards excellence in the Middle East’s meetings, exhibitions and events industry. The aim of the Awards is:

The Awards presentation took place during lunch on the opening day of the Event 360 Exhibition in the convenient location of the Al Multaqua Ballroom at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and was attended by more than 200 industry professionals.

Abu Dhabi Bride Show_Fashion Show

The Bride Show Abu Dhabi provides a direct route to a multi-million dollar wedding industry and a high-powered consumer audience. The show provides exhibitors with a cost effective platform to market and sell products to thousands of potential new customers. The show primarily attracts Emirati ladies and their families as well as women who enjoy fashion, beauty and luxury. The Bride Show Abu Dhabi also hosts daily fashion shows, competitions and demonstrations.


One of the main attraction are the Fashion Shows held everyday at the venue. This year there were 15 designers showing off their weding collection as well as haute coutur. The Swarovsky Young Designers Awards was also a big draw with 10 young designers competing for the Award.

Arab Health Golf Classic 2008



The Arab Health Show 2008 got off to a flying start on Sunday 27 January with the Arab Health Golf Classic, sponsored by Dubai Health Care City.

Over 90 medical industry professionals completed in 2-player teams to compete for the crown to become the Arab Health Dubai Golf Classic Champions. Played on the stunning Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club course, the afternoon competition allowed all players to enjoy the excitement, friendly competition and camaraderie that can only be experienced by playing with fellow real estate industry peers and colleagues. A resounding success, the tournament is set to become a key feature of Arab Health.
In addition to the main team competition, numerous fun and challenging individual competitions took place during the day.

ARAB HEALTH AWARDS 2008


The Arab Health Achievement and Innovation Awards is the Middle East's most high profile awards event for the healthcare industry. The Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals, hospitals, departments, teams or an organisation that have contributed to the growth and development of the Arab Health industry. As the Arab Health industry grows, so does the need to reward industry leaders and innovators in a variety of industry categories.

The Arab Health Awards Gala Dinner was attended by more than 500 of the world's leading health professionals and provided the perfect networking event alongside Arab Health. The evening consisted of Pre Dinner drinks on arrival before entering the Safinah Ballroom where the Awards Ceremony commenced. This was accompanied by a 3 course meal followed by Light Jazz muisc to conclude the evening.
