Middle East Lighting Desinger Awards, 27 April 2008

The Middle East lighting industry turned out for the 2008 Middle East Light Design Awards, affectionately known as MELDA on the first day of the recent PALME Exhibition .
The elaborate Gala Dinner was hosted at the Park Hyatt, Dubai on Sunday 27 April with over 250 people attending to honouring the outstanding and innovative lighting design achievements taking place across the Middle East.


The lighting design awards were staged for the first time last year and created a benchmark of excellence. The awards cover projects within the Middle East, including the Gulf Co-operation Council countries as well as Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran and Egypt.

It is a unique opportunity for the region to recognize and celebrate the creativity and technical skill of the world's leading lighting designers in enhancing the region's built environment through the power of light. Cutting-edge, dynamic and ground-breaking projects are being built in this fast-paced and exciting environment, the night-time image of these buildings as enhanced by lighting is of huge importance.

MIDDLE EAST EVENT AWARDS 27 April, 2008
The Middle East Events Awards rewards excellence in the Middle East’s meetings, exhibitions and events industry. The aim of the Awards is:


To reward outstanding achievements in the Middle East events industry
To encourage innovation, flair and professionalism in the events industry
To encourage events and event organisers to raise the standards of working practices in the events industry and benchmark performance against the best of the best
To act as a benchmark and target for all event industry professionals
To showcase the outstanding achievements of the Middle East events industry to the worldwide events industry

The Awards presentation took place during lunch on the opening day of the Event 360 Exhibition in the convenient location of the Al Multaqua Ballroom at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and was attended by more than 200 industry professionals.
